Subject: OData Extension for Data Aggregation V4.0 published

OASIS Members,

We are pleased to announce the approval and publication of a new Committee Specification by the members of the OASIS Open Data Protocol (OData) TC:

OData Extension for Data Aggregation Version 4.0
Committee Specification 01
26 February 2014

Overview:

OData is a REST-based Web protocol. It builds on HTTP, AtomPub, and JSON using URIs to address and access data feed resources. It enables information to be accessed from a variety of sources including (but not limited to) relational databases, file systems, content management systems, and traditional Web sites.

This specification adds basic grouping and aggregation functionality (e.g. sum, min, and max) to the Open Data Protocol (OData) without changing any of the base principles of OData.

Members of the Open Data Protocol (OData) TC [1] requested a Special Majority Vote to approve this specification as a Committee Specification. The specification had been released for public review as required by the TC Process [2]. The vote to approve as a Committee Specification passed [3], and the approved CS01 is now available online in the OASIS Library as referenced above.

Our congratulations to the TC on achieving this milestone.
