Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ODATA-745) Sections 4.5.5, 7.3, and 7.4: is odata.nextLink allowed for all collections?
[ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ODATA-745?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ] Ralf Handl updated ODATA-745: ----------------------------- Summary: Sections 4.5.5, 7.3, and 7.4: is odata.nextLink allowed for all collections? (was: Sections 4.5.4 and 4.5.5: odata.count and odata.nextLink are allowed for all collections) Description: Section 4.5.5 restricts the odata.nextLink to collections of entities and entity references. Sections 7.3 and 7.4 show examples of collections of primitive and complex values together with a nextLink. Part 1: Protocol, section 11.2.5.7 Server-Driven Paging does not state any restrictions and allows the next link for all partial sets of items. Proposal: Remove the restriction to collections of entities and entity references in sectio n 4.5.5 as it contradicts other parts of the specification. (was: Remove the restriction to collections of entities and entity references; we allow server-driven paging and use of the $count system query option for all collections. See also section 7.3 that explicitly contains an example for a collection of string values.) > Sections 4.5.5, 7.3, and 7.4: is odata.nextLink allowed for all collections? > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: ODATA-745 > URL: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ODATA-745 > Project: OASIS Open Data Protocol (OData) TC > Issue Type: Bug > Components: OData JSON Format > Affects Versions: V4.0_ERRATA02 > Environment: [Proposed] > Reporter: Ralf Handl > Fix For: V4.0_ERRATA03 > > > Section 4.5.5 restricts the odata.nextLink to collections of entities and entity references. > Sections 7.3 and 7.4 show examples of collections of primitive and complex values together with a nextLink. > Part 1: Protocol, section 11.2.5.7 Server-Driven Paging does not state any restrictions and allows the next link for all partial sets of items. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.2.2#6258)
