Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ODATA-804) If we allow Edm.Decimal to be used with IEEE decimal floating point, will we then support Nzn and +/- Infinity?

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ODATA-804?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=59401#comment-59401 ]

Gerald Krause commented on ODATA-804:
-------------------------------------

ODATA-747 is also about adding these special values, because it is desirable to express such calculation conditions. While I just extended the existing ABNF for that purpose in the other issue, IEEE decimal floating points now deliver a basis for supporting them also formally.

> In other issues, e.g. ODATA-789, we have discussed extending the definition of Edm.Decimal to accomodate exponential form, to permit its use with IEEE decimal floating point values. This raises the issue of what to do with regard to the representation of NaN and +/- Infinity for floating point Edm.Decimal values in:
> * URL Conventions (ABNF)
> * ATOM Format
> * JSON Format
