Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ODATA-784) Need to specify the behaviour of arithmetic operators on Decimal type

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ODATA-784?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=61738#comment-61738 ]

Evan Ireland commented on ODATA-784:

Michael wrote:

"Most of the Div examples seems to return the value in the max scale of the underlying type"

and suggested "max precision of decimal" as one of 5 options.

It is wirth noting that while SQL databases typically have a notion of "max precision of decimal", OData service implementations that are implemented in middleware might not have such a notion. For example, Java services might use java.math.BigDecimal, which has no such maximum precision.
