Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ODATA-923) $expand (or $include) for $metadata to include referenced schemas

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ODATA-923?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=62738#comment-62738 ]

Michael Pizzo commented on ODATA-923:
-------------------------------------

-I like using $include rather than $expand
-I don't think we need the ability to recurse through specific paths (which is another reason to introduce a new term, rather than use $expand)
-Note that aliases of the included schema should be the aliases from the <Include>, not those defined in the aliased document, and those aliases must be used consistently throughout the included schema.
-Can $include be a hint, rather than a requirement for the request? If so, should it be passed as a preference? I would rather not require that services support $include, and would rather not introduce a capability term to advertise whether or not services support.

> After being able to partition large services into smaller ones using cross-service navigation we might want to support requesting multiple of these small files in one request, similar to expanding an entity and including related entities.
