Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ODATA-1108) Disallow empty parens for implicit parameter syntax

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ODATA-1108?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=67245#comment-67245 ]

Ralf Handl commented on ODATA-1108:
-----------------------------------

Is already the case, spec text is

To use implicit parameter aliases, no parentheses are appended to the function (import) name

Could be rephrased to

To use implicit parameter aliases, parentheses MUST NOT be appended to the function (import) name

Not sure if this is an improvement.

> In ODATA-763 we introduced a simplified syntax for invoking a function with implicit parameters. While the proposal in ODATA-763 called for omitting the parens in this case, the application seems to have made the parens optional.
> Note that we have also made the parens optional for the case where there are no parameters to be passed to the function.
