Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ODATA-1473) Clarify: PATCH should allow changing type on nested complex type
Michael Pizzo created ODATA-1473: ------------------------------------ Summary: Clarify: PATCH should allow changing type on nested complex type Key: ODATA-1473 URL: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ODATA-1473 Project: OASIS Open Data Protocol (OData) TC Issue Type: New Feature Components: Protocol Affects Versions: V4.01_OS Environment: Proposed Reporter: Michael Pizzo Fix For: V4.01_ERRATA01 We state that PATCH semantics to an entity also applies PATCH semantics to any provided complex-typed properties. However, we don't say whether a PATCH to an entity can change a complex-typed property to a different complex type. While we (explicitly) prohibit changing the type of an instance of an entity type (since an instance of an entity type has identity) it should be possible to change the a complex-typed property to a property of a value of a different type. -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.3.3#803004)
