Minutes of meeting on 4th April 2006
==============================

The minutes were accepted without revision.

Agenda
=======

The topic of communications was added to the planned Agenda which was
otherwise accepted.

Communications
==============

Carol Geyer of OASIS outlined various communication polices that the TC
should be aware of. The key points were:-

- There were some issues with using a logo for conformance, for example
there would need to be some legal qualifications added.
- Carol would like to see an ODF Focus Area on xml.org, similar to
http://dita.xml.org. This site can be used for helpful but non-official
information.
- Erwin asked if we could make a planet from the various blogs discussing
ODF. This appeared to be possible.
- Sponsors could have their logo on the site for $5,000 per annum.
- Press Releases are handled by OASIS and are generally only used for
significant announcements. Media Releases can be issued for lesser items.
- Carol advised that TC Members attending the meeting in San Francisco
don't need to attend the whole symposium. Sponsor companies have a free
pass so that might be available.
- At this point we confirmed that there should be a quorum for this face to
face meeting.
- Carol suggested that a White Paper could be broken into component parts
and used on the Focus Area.

At this point Carol left the meeting.

Conformance
===========

Gary outlined some of the issues and agreed to distribute his notes so that
we could all understand the problems.
The ODF Spec Section 1.5 has a definition of conformance.
Erwin reported that he has invited Waldo Bastian of INTEL to address a
future meeting on the subject of Test Suites.

White Paper
===========

Erwin asked for feedback on what should be included in the updated White
Paper.
Ryan raised the question of whether there should be a separate White Paper
for XFORMS. It was suggested that various papers targeted at specific
communities (e.g. Legal) could be produced.

The meeting was adjourned at this stage.
