Subject: RE: [odf-adoption] OASIS logo and trademark issues?

The advantages of building recognition for one universal OpenDocument identity
are obvious. It's great to see the Committee exploring all the possibilities for
branding.

To be sure OASIS provides the Committee (and the world) with clear, practical,
comprehensive guidelines on logo usage, could you please compile a list of all
the ways you'd like to use an OpenDocument logo, e.g., application icons,
designations of general support by users/vendors, conformance, compliance
badging, etc? Please be specific about who should be entitled to use the logo in
each of these instances; if a select group, then note how would we enforce usage
rights.

Once I have your complete list of requirements, I can make some recommendations
and get management approval on a set of logo usage guidelines that meet your
needs.

Thanks,
Carol

Heh. I had forgotten about that page. That page is very old. But this is
actually a useful example of what I was saying about different apps using
different icons but all having the same logo (see Nicu's ideas).

Best,
Daniel.
