Subject: ODF Adoption TC Call - 13 March 2007 - Notes
All, Here are my notes from our last call. Erwin Attendees ========= * Alan Clark * Erwin Tenhumberg * Don Harbison * Charles Schulz * J. David Eisenberg Logistics ========= We did not have a quorum. Recruiting new members / reinvigorating the TC ============================================== The business / value proposition message is pretty much covered. Now we should focus on ISV / developer oriented messages. J. David did some work on XForms. The various ODF toolkit efforts might be a good topic. We should put a spotlight on tooling. Cedric Bosdonnat might be an interesting candidate. He wrote a plug-in for eclipse. Juergen Schmidt from Sun might be another one good candidate. Juergen is involved in the ODF toolkit, the OpenOffice.org SDK and a plug-in for NetBeans. It also would be good to have people on the TC who are involved in migrations, i.e.: - Customers / users - SI's We should also talk to some of the ODF implementors and ask them for feedback about ODF. Update on deliverables ====================== ODF Symposium ------------- There will be something like lightning rounds on Tuesday with a Q&A session at the end. The Tuesday session will help to promote the Wednesday talks. Presentations are due this Friday. An informal get-together for members of both TC's is also planned. New collateral -------------- Erwin created a URL card for the recent e-government event in Berlin. We need to create technical documentation for the developer community. Probably some of the Symposium content can be leveraged. Events ====== Open document exchange formats was a key topic at the recent e-government conference in Berlin: http://www.openforumeurope.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=937&Itemid=1 ODF News / Round Table ====================== The IBM Lotus team posted public beta of their new software release that supports ODF.
