Subject: RE: [odf-adoption] Recap of ODF Camp for OASIS News

Peter,
This is a big help, thanks.

Would you or someone else from the TC post this ODF Camp recap on OpenDocument
XML.org?

Should we create a Forum on opendocument.xml.org to discuss the
interoperability issues that were identified at ODF Camp? We have a Forum for
"Positioning, Benefits, Compatibility, and Interoperability"
http://opendocument.xml.org/positioning-forum -- but that seems a bit broad.

I did not see any other contribution ? (Maybe in private)

A possible text could be:

ODF Camp was held parallel to the OpenOffice.org 2007 conference in
Barcelona on 20 September 2007 with about 30 participants. Interoperability
of ODF documents was tested with documents generated in
StarOffice/OpenOffice.org, IBM Symphony, Google Docs, KOffice,
  MS Office 2003 + Sun plug-in, MS Office 2003 + odf-converter and
SEPT-solutions Mobile Office. Different levels of interoperability problems
where discovered (user errors (e.g. using spaces), technical problems
(application bugs), interop problems with applications that have a different
native format (e.g. frames-in-frames in MS Office), conceptual problems of
document representation (e.g. how to represent bi-language documents)).
The discussion will be followed-up online by the participants.

I hope I did not forget any contribution ? Any other feedback on this
proposed text ?

Thanks,

Peter Vandenabeele
