IBM
Robert Weir
IBM
J. Eisenberg
Individual
Alan Clark
Novell
Dee Schur
OASIS
Louis Suarez-Potts
Sun Microsystem
A quorum was achieved.
No vote on minutes due to the fact that
the previous meeting failed to achieve a quorum.
The primary topic for discussion was
the ODF interoperability project. All members of the TC expressed a strong
desire to sustain the momentum created from the ODF Camp event in Barcelona,
on Sep. 20.
Some ideas:
- create an OASIS mailing list; e.g. ODF-Interop.
Action: Dee Schur to investigate
- discussion on how to best include non-OASIS
members
Michael Priestley from the DITA TC is
pursuing interoperability scenarios and technical approaches with ODF and
DocBook. Rob and Don reported that Michael is continuing to seek support
from the ODF TC in this effort.
Future Interop venues include:
- OASIS Symposium
- Gilbane (CM event)
- XML 2007 (we may have lost an opportunity)
Jane Harnad to assist the TC by building
the long term calendar of potential conferences and other events for ODF
Adoption TC members to speak at or to attend and participate.
Discussion turned to ODF trademark and
branding. Concern over lack of control and erosion of ODF brand image.
Discussion over the creation of sanctioned ODF icons for use within ODF
compliant applications; e.g. OpenOffice, Symphony, KOffice, Google Docs
and Spreadsheets, etc.
Meeting adjourned.
