Mmm, instead of "vendors", I would suggest to use something along the
lines of "software implementors and service providers" (to make sure
that KOffice and GoogleDocs developers are feeling at home)

What about "related standards" instead of "markup standards" ? Maybe at
some point it would be interesting to examine interoperability between
say ODF and PDF/a (when I think of markup, SGML, TeX, XML... comes in
mind, but somehow PDF doesn't feel the same)
