To TC Members:
Please find the minutes of our June
24th TC call below as recorded by Marino Marcich.

1.) Logistics
- Roll call
**Quorum. Don Harbison (IBM), Rob Weir IBM), Michael Brauer (Sun), Alan
Clark (Novell), Zaheda Bhorat (Google), Meredith Whittaker (Google), Aslam
Raffee (South Africa, Dept of Science & Technology), Bart Hanssens
(Belgium, Fedict), Marino Marcich (ODF Alliance)
- Acceptance of open minutes from previous meetings
**Minutes approved
- Acceptance of today's agenda
**Agenda approved
2.) Update on ballot procedure and scheduling for co-Chair
**It was noted that voting rights requires attendance at two consecutive
meetings. As Louis Suarez Potts was not present and Zaheda Bhorat was re-establishing
voting rights, it was agreed that the ballot for co-chair of the OASIS
Adoption TC would be postponed indefinitely, or until such time as both
candidates have re-established their voting rights.
3) Update on formation of ODF Implementation, Interoperability and Conformance
TC (OIIC TC)
**Rob Weir briefed members on the status of OIIC. Participation in the
discussion list had grown to 129, an indication of the strong interest
in the issue. Discussion may last up to 90 days. Participants in
the list will determine whether there is sufficient interest to form an
OASIS TC, and then collaborate on a draft TC charter for submission. A
minimum of five OASIS members are required to sponsor the formation of
a new TC. OASIS membership fee may be an issue for some open source
developers participating in an individual capacity, though fee waiver provisions
do exist. A distinction should be drawn the actual tools to test conformance
(the conformance test itself – OASIS doesn’t produce source code) versus
a “test conformance document”. It is the latter that is the work product
of the OIIC TC. The next step is to draft a consensus “charter”. It was
agreed that we should seek the participation of as many vendors as possible
that have implemented support for ODF in their products, among them Corel,
Apple, and others.
4.) Action Items Review and Update
- http://wiki.oasis-open.org/odf-adoption/OdfAdoptionTcActionItems
**Several items closed, including “fonts for Linux features” (more of
an application issue)
**Toll-free dial in issue still needs to be resolved
**Status/existence of Japanese and Korean ODF translations needs to be
tracked down. Looks like Spanish and Portuguese translations exist.
**It was noted that J David Eisenberg was reviewing ODF toolkit capabilities
**July 18th is the deadline for OOo Conference proposals/ideas.
See http://marketing.openoffice.org/ooocon2008/cfp/
for more details.
Need to reach out to host re: agenda.
-- discussion on deliverables for 2H/2008.
**Accessibility “resource paper” incorporating recent developments
**Ideas for galvanizing the ODF community agreed as an agenda item for
next call
**Need to better highlight core “value proposition” of ODF
5.) ODF News / Round Table
**Microsoft has invited members of the ODF TC to Redmond on July 30 regarding
its plans to implement support for ODF
