The Minutes of March 24, 2009 TC meeting were accepted without revision.

Agenda:

1.) Review, TC Action Item plan: http://wiki.oasis-open.org/odf-adoption/OdfAdoptionTcActionItems  - Don, All
a. Communications Matrix review
* Marino confirmed he will draft the ODF 1.2 Brochure for review April 21.
* Don confirmed he will outline and begin to draft the technical paper and presentation for ODF 1.2 for review April 21.

b. Events Plan review
* Don raised the possibility of submitting a proposal for the O'Reilly 'Government 2.0 Summit' conference, Sep 9 - 11, Washington, D.C.
This conference is by Invitation Only. A Call for Participation is seeking short 10 minute case studies.

The TC members discussed the need to position ODF as a Web standard alongside XForms, HTML, etc. ODF XML has a unique relationship for both client and server side Web models. TC members agreed that a short positioning paper is needed. Action item added.

The TC members agreed to work via the open mailing list to develop the proposal for submission by the April 28th deadline. See http://www.gov2summit.com/gov2009/public/cfp/67 ...for CFP details.

* Bart informed the TC that he has accepted an invitation for a keynote address to an open source/open systems conference in Zagreb, Croatia in May. This (3) day conference will be conducted half in English and half in Croatian. Bart will send the url and additional information on this event to the TC members.

2.) ODF Toolkit Union - Status report - Rob
* Rob updated the TC on the progress of the ODFDOM project within the ODF Toolkit Union. Good progress is being achieved. The Working Group for ODFDOM convened Monday, April 6th at 09:00 hrs. EDT. Representatives from Sun, IBM and individual open source developers convened by teleconference to discuss and plan the project work in more detail. It was agreed to deliver a '0.7' release at the beginning of May (approximately +1 month). This release will be stable and usable. Rob indicated that there are no pre-defined items that comprise a 'V1.0', or a 'complete' ODF Toolkit. Instead, the community members are mapping 'dot releases' moving across the 2009 calendar. Each 'dot release' will provide an expansion in functionality.

Michael Brauer discussed the status of he ODF Validator code hosted on the ODFToolkit.org development site. He will be improving the packaging of the code and documenting how to download the appropriate jar files. The TC discussed the concept of 'definitive Validation' and agreed that the work of the OIC TC is needed to provide the authoritative definitions of ODF conformity.  Michael indicated that the validation code will be updated to reflect the latest definitions of ODF Conformance levels as approved by the OASIS ODF TC. For reference see: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200903/msg00112.html

3.) ODF Interoperability and Conformance TC: Status report - Bart
* Bart continues to work on test cases; work is ongoing. The OIC TC meets tomorrow, April 8th at 9:30 a.m. EDT. UTC 13:30 hrs.

4.) ODF Alliance: Status report - Marino
* Marino announced he accepted an invitation to speak at the Informatics Association of Turkey' Public Sector IT Manager's event in Antalya on April 10 (http://www.kamu-bib.org/bimy/). This is a follow-up to the ODF Pretoria Workshop in which Turkish parliamentarians participated. At the Apr 10 event representatives from all parties will be present withIT directors from government (both technical and policy makers). The plan is to officially launch the ODF Alliance in Turkey at this time.

5.) ODF in Education - Louis
* Louis described his proposal to develop a program for 'ODF in Education'. The concept requires curricula development centered on programming, XML with a focus on ODF XML. 'Teach ODF' would follow on to the concepts of programming and XML technologies. The ODF Toolkit might play a role here as well. Louis agreed to take the action to define this program concept in more detail. A 'next step' will be to contact the HFOSS community at Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, USA, and individuals at Seneca College in Canada. Louis will report status on our next TC call, April 21.

6.) ODF News / Round Table  -- All

* Time expired, and no round table was conducted.

The meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
