I support the addition of long and 'short' alt texts. 2. I am concerned that changing names will not provide a significant step forward. 3. The use of svg:title is very similar to the 'caption' content, which is present, but not very good in terms of markup? I would like to see something like longdesc, which allows a *structured* text alternative. svg:desc in SVG is not a good example IMHO. WAI worked with SVG to ensure we had something to describe vector graphics, and svg:desc was the result. I don't think it provides anything better than a caption? If we think of a full description of a complex image and how it might be described, then I think we need, at least: Optional headings. multiple paragraphs. Then we would have a caption (a brief description of what it is), together with the more complete alternative, with structure. regards -- Dave Pawson XSLT XSL-FO FAQ. http://www.dpawson.co.uk
