Peter Rakyta- MultiRacio Ltd.: Hi Oliver!
Oliver-Rainer Wittmann: hi peter
Oliver-Rainer Wittmann: i have to switch rooms - will be offline for a moment
anonymous morphed into Thorsten
Thorsten: Hi!
Peter Rakyta- MultiRacio Ltd.: Hi!
Oliver-Rainer Wittmann: moin moin
Oliver-Rainer Wittmann: does somebody heard anything of a ODF plugfest taking place this year?
Peter Rakyta- MultiRacio Ltd.: nope
Svante Schubert: Hi everyone
[15:33] Thorsten: well, we could have something at the LibreOffice conference?
[15:35] anonymous morphed into Luke De Mouy
[15:35] Oliver-Rainer Wittmann: hm.. as LibreOffice conference is taking place in about 8-9 weeks I think this is not enough time to setup something like an ODF Plugfest
[15:37] Svante Schubert: Luke is introducing himself..
[15:40] Svante Schubert: DocEng 2013, http://www.doceng2013.org/ from Tuesday 10 September to Friday 13 September in Florence Italy
[15:45] Svante Schubert: The next ODF related conference, where we might have a face2face meeting is the LibreOffice Conference
[15:46] Svante Schubert: I might pass the deadline by two days due my current vacations, but Thorsten state that it is worth a try
[15:48] Svante Schubert: Instead of writing changes (e.g. paragraph change) into the paragraph.
By writing some before/after XML
The idea is to define an allowed change beforehand
like for a table, we would define a move row
or the insertion/deletion of a paragraph
These entities that can be inserted/deleted/moved, we call components
They are larger pieces of XML. Some groupings, that have a high semantic bounding
Lucky us the XML design is not in a way, that they are spread across the document even a single character is a component
[15:52] Svante Schubert: The set of functionality that have to be covered by our specification is similar to the ECT (extension change-tracking) proposal
[15:52] Svante Schubert: which is equal to the feature set currently implemented by common ODF applications
[15:53] Svante Schubert: we are going to specify the status quo
[16:03] Oliver-Rainer Wittmann: our wiki front page: https://wiki.oasis-open.org/office/Advanced%20Document%20Collaboration
[16:07] Svante Schubert: There is a document section, where you might take a look at the latest documents
[16:08] Svante Schubert: There you will find as well the ECT proposals, covering the default feature set, I mentioned earlier
[16:09] Svante Schubert: Thorsten asks Luke about the status of the Calligra implementation
[16:10] Svante Schubert: Thorsten asks to have some prototype to be able to 'play' around, to have something to test in parallel while the spec is written
[16:12] Svante Schubert: Luke already got text operations within the characters up and running that output the changes to an XML file to the location you are running the binary from
[16:13] Svante Schubert: Peter is giving his status
[16:13] Svante Schubert: on his prototype
[16:22] Svante Schubert: He make progress, but there is a problem with styles, which is implementation dependent and will be clarified on an office implementation list
[16:23] Peter Rakyta- MultiRacio Ltd.: yes, thats the case
[16:29] Oliver-Rainer Wittmann: EuroOffice based on LibreOffice or Apache OpenOffice
[16:29] Oliver-Rainer Wittmann: ?
[16:30] Svante Schubert: Peter: The extension of Peter is based on Apache OpenOffice, but work with both
[16:30] Svante Schubert: The lastest version of EuroOffice was based on LibreOffice
[16:31] Svante Schubert: In the operations there will be no automatic style names, only template style names.
[16:32] Oliver-Rainer Wittmann: ok. Thus, Peter's extension do not need to access the names of automatic styles via the OO/LO UNO-API
[16:32] Svante Schubert: As automatic style names only exist within a document
[16:34] Svante Schubert: byebye
