Subject: Re: [office-comment] ODF 1.1: 3.3 [Discard earlier submission]
This is the document you want to consult: ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2 "Rules for the structure and drafting of international standards" http://isotc.iso.org/livelink/livelink/fetch/2000/2122/3146825/4229629/4230450/4230456/ISO_IEC_Directives__Part_2__Rules_for_the_structure_and_drafting_of_International_Standards__2004__5th_edition___pdf_format_.pdf?nodeid=4230517&vernum=0 In particular, Annex H. In ODF 1.2 we are working to uniformly and consistently apply the Annex H vocabulary. Our project editor, Patrick Durusau, has the unenviable task of going through the entire text of ODF 1.2 and ensuring that all uses of can/should/shall/could/must/might/may/wouldn't it be nice/wouldn't it be d'lovely/similar/typically/on occasion/if you want/ad libitum, etc., are changed into proper uses of the Annex H control vocabulary. So we hope to have a pretty good scrub of that completed before we put ODF 1.2 out for public review. At that point, any deviations should be promptly brought to our attention, since they will be unexpected. -Rob
