MathML logic? (ODF pt 1, public review 1)

Dear all,

21.1 has:

"OpenDocument extended documents may contain elements and attributes not defined by the OpenDocument schema. Such elements and attributes are called foreign elements and attributes."

Okay, so MathML elements are not "defined by the OpenDocument schema" therefore they are foreign.

Then we have,

"Foreign elements and attributes shall not be associated with a namespace that is listed in tables 1, 2 or 3 of section 1.5."

Yes the MathML Namespace is listed in section 1.5.

Therefore by the logic of the spec, any document containing MathML is non-conformant.

Probably the best solution to this - as proposed before - is to have the ODF schema model MathML.

(Is this also true for the signature stuff?)
