Subject: PRD02 - Pt1 v Pt 2: epochs

Dear all,

Part 2 states that a formula evaluator is governed by various host-defined properties, one of which (3.4) is:

"8) HOST-NULL-DATE: Defines the beginning of the epoch; a numeric date of 0 equals this date."

Part 1 allows allows this value to be specified with the <table:null-date> element (9.4.2). Presumably this is the mechanism by which the host communicates this value to an OF implementation (I can't see this stated).

However, the <table:null-date> element is optional. What "null date" does an OF evaluator use when this element is omitted?

Please provide some normative text stating what the default epoch is for OpenFormula implementations hosted by an ODF container which does not specify explicitly.

(Please also amend the date in 9.4.2. to use ISO 8601 format dates.)

- Alex.
