No no - the point is that we need to create a definition and then TEST it to make sure it's the INTENDED definition.  In the final spec only the definition will be included, but we'll know it's right because it produces the "right answer" in many cases.

Good.  The current comments also reference various definitions of year fractions.  The problem is that there's nothing that maps the basis numbers to any of the (many different) definitions.  They differ in how they handle days near the end of the month and leap years.

By including in test cases all possible combinations of all relevant circumstances (all end dates, leap year or not), we should catch them all.
