That definitely lies in the eyes of the beholder. What do the indices a
and b in Xa and Xb mean? If these are ranks then b should be a+1
otherwise this may yield different answer depending on the chosen value
for b. In that case, ra would also be a.

perhaps rather than Xa and Xb some nonsubscripted names should be used
and it should be clarified that Xa is the larges tnumber smaller than X
and Xb the smallest number larger than X.

What is "Despite its name, PERCENTRANK returns a fraction between 0 and
1 inclusive, rather than a percentage." supposed to mean? A percentage
is just a number formatted in a certain way.
