I meant "noise" words in the sense that the result specified would be 
true for *any* financial instrument, not just "bond" in some narrower sense.

Not possible to simply leave "the description as is." Either we have 
defined what we are standardizing or we have not. One of the burdens of 
writing a standard, as opposed to user documentation for example, is 
that standards can't waive their hands and say "you know what I mean."

Having a mathematical formula doesn't help unless the variables are defined.
