TOPICS:

As usual, we went through NEEDS-DISCUSSION items.

* OFFICE-2770
http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2770

This was a long discussion about 6.16.18 Convert
"Definition of Pica should be 1/6 in."

This is complicated, because there are many definitions of "point".
Historically the CONVERT function's "Pica" is really a Pica point = 1/72 inch.
Excel 2010 has added "pica" (note case difference) = 1/6 inch (a "real" pica).

Someone (Wheeler didn't write down who) noted that CSS uses these abbreviations.
pt = point
pc = pica
Wheeler: We've tried to make sure that all units in CONVERT are unique, and
"pt" is already used for "pint".

Wheeler will pick up this comment and create a proposal.

* OFFICE-2769
http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2769

Rob will run the proposal by some Turkish language experts,
and post what he learns.

* OFFICE-2751
(Can have a reference without using the filename.)

Rob: I can see this being reasonable.

Patrick: I haven't looked at the relative URL, but if not there, can
ask user to resolve it... wouldn't that produce the same behavior?

Dennis: It looks like a relative URL. The weird case is, there are rules
on how to resolve them.

Eric: But we want to distinguish between invalid and one without a locator.

Eike: ODF-Next, if at all. You don't know what it's pointing to.

Dennis: We don't care what's in memory. Instead, if there's a reference where
you can't resolve the target.

Eric: I'll take it, and work with Dennis.

* OFFICE-2740
http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2740

This is about a comment on the '%' postfix operator.

Wheeler: I like Eike's proposal.

Eike will self-assign.

* OFFICE-2750
http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2750
"5.8: Error Literals in References"

The idea is to let users to save files even when there are problems,
and include info to help them fix it later.

Eike will pick up, work with Eric.

* OFFICE-2747
http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2747

There was discussion on if this could happen, and if so, where.

Eike: Can't happen.

Wheeler: Looking at CD05, section 5.8 doesn't make this possible when inside [..]. HOWEVER,
section 6.4.11, infix operator reference range (":") *could* produce this circumstance.

Wheeler: We need to state clearly that if no sheet locator given,
and there's no rule saying otherwise, then it's the current sheet.
(An exception is the right reference in the ":" infix operator, where if there's
sheet locator, the sheet locator of the left reference is used.)

Eike will pick this up, too.

* If there's something not assigned to anyone, and you're a subcommittee member,
please just take it, comment on it, and/or propose a resolution.
You don't need to wait for a teleconference.

* Rob Weir: The committee draft is about to go out for public
review approx. July & August, done approximately September 1.
Need to resolve comments as we get them, so we can have a new draft ready then.
