I think his argument is more against the organizations that create new 
uri schemes than about the users who are forced to live with them, but 
given that I am in strong agreement with John M. about the use of uris 
as identifiers for the future metadata stuff, I think that we'll 
probably need to come up with some kind of guidelines for them if we do 
go that route.
