If people don't have time, I just want to pull out this chunk to show what I mean by previous discussions. John's using the about attribute here to switch the subject to the patient. He's then adding properties within there. Now, he could store those in the package, but he'll lose the granularity of the content ( this span is a snomed:birthdate, etc.) in the process.
