Subject: Re: [office-metadata] Content duplication and ODF related RDFvocabulary
Hi, I would like to add the outcome of some further discussions. There are some further problems with content duplication by default, the very size. If we have a spreadsheet, most likely nearly all data content of the cells might be found in the metadata as the model. Are only the types in the metadata? Are spreadsheets a special case? A different referencing approach: If for example a quotation is done 100 times, it would be written 100 times in the content and 1 time in the metadata. This brings the idea of writing it once in the model and referencing it from the content, similar as XForms is using bindings from the content to the model. If the content is being changed by mistake (e.g. JDOM), it would only remove the reference to the metadata and therefore this field no necessary invalid in relation to the metadata. A different way of validation: Coming back to the account name example, where the name is equal as data for content and metadata. When being corrupted by mistake, the wrong name would be taken in the metadata as well, as it was only a reference. We could use a hash value over all equal data, which might at least show the problem, although it won't reset the old value. Regards, Svante
