I object to the revisions made as to preservation of xml:id attributes and deletion of the prohibition against changing contents of metadata files. Those items are still under discussion, there is no consensus, and there has been no vote. It is premature to make those changes.

Notably, there is also still discussion of whether preservation requirements should be in the Metadata proposal or in the Conformance section.
