Subject: [office] OpenDocument TC Meeting Minutes 14-Mar-05
MINUTES OF THE OASIS OPENDOCUMENT TC MEETING MARCH, THE 14TH, 2005, 3PM GMT – 4PM GMT Attendees --------- Lars Oppermann <lars.oppermann@sun.com> Sun Microsystems Gary Edwards <garyedwards@yahoo.com> Patrick Durusau <Patrick.Durusau@sbl-site.org>, SBL Regrets: Tom, David Acceptance of Minutes of March, the 14th meeting ---------------------------------------------------- - The attending TC members unanimously accepted the minutes. Action Items ------------ Lars: clarify mimetype registration with OASIS staff contact - in progress, waiting for OASIS Gary: follow up with OOo marketing project on logo - in progress Michael: collect certifications - done Michael: prepare OASIS submission - in progress Conformance/Compliance, Logo ---------------------------- We still have no clear roadmap on conformance and a possible logo and how those two might be related. We are however of the opinion, that if some sort of official OpenDocument logo was to be established, it's use should be tied to some sort of compliance rule. In order to make progress in these area, we need to evaluate our options which are not quite clear yet. TC members are asked to post possible scenarios on how a compliance/logo strategy could look like. Goals that have been identified for such a strategy: - royality-free compliance/logo path needs to be available - a logo (if there will bew one) should be under control of the TC - strategy must not conflict with ISO rules update: ISO standards do not have logos, ISO logo may not be used for ISO standards Status of specification ----------------------- Michael will post the standard submission to OASIS Mary McRea of OASIS will join the next TC call in order to discuss the next steps. Communication OASIS/OS Community -------------------------------- All communication regarding OpenDocument between members of open-source projects and OASIS should be made through TC members. Community members contacting OASIS staff directly without involving the TC first has lead to some confusion in the past, since OASIS staff didn't know whether they where dealing with TC members or not. TC members sould make this clear in their respective communities.
