MINUTES OF THE OASIS OPENDOCUMENT TC MEETING MARCH, THE 21st, 2005, 3PM GMT – 4PM GMT Attendees --------- Michael Brauer <michael.brauer@sun.com>, Sun Microsystems Lars Oppermann <lars.oppermann@sun.com>, Sun Microsystems Gary Edwards <garyedwards@yahoo.com> David Faure <faure@kde.org> Nathaniel Borenstein <nborenst@us.ibm.com>, IBM Guests: Mary McRae, Carol Geyer, Andy Moir Acceptance of Minutes of March, the 14th meeting ---------------------------------------------------- - The attending TC members unanimously accepted the minutes. Action Items ------------ Lars: clarify mimetype registration with OASIS staff contact - in progress Michael: Collection of certifications - done Michael: Submission of spec - done Staus of OpenDocuemnt spec. --------------------------- Submitted to OASIS for approval as an OASIS Standard Information from OASIS staff ---------------------------- Press release: - OASIS will prepare a press release which is to be released after a successful vote on the specification as an OASIS standard. - sponsor members will be included in the press release - any sponsor member can be quoted in the release - release will be visible on PR list - TC chair can add quote - OASIS will try to get analyst quote What else... - TC members can speak at conferences about the TC work on behalf of OASIS (but are of course free to speak for themselves/for their companies) (same for articles) - OASIS encourages to organize interop demos at conferences, tradeshows, etc... and will support those - organizing 'webinars' to reach a broader audience is also an option ISO - a submission of the standard to ISO would be done by OASIS upon request from the TC, Jamie Clark would be the OASIS staff person to talk to OASIS symposium - the TC should present the work at the upcoming OASIS symposium in New Orleans TC Discussion ------------- Conformance We have identified the following options, which we could persue with regard to conformance/compliance testing(/certification). Everyone should posts their options regarding those options to the mailing list... 1. Use the OASIS model 2. Let the OpenSource communities handle compliance 3. Form a sub-committee to handle compliance (and other marketing related issues) 4. conformance specified by this TC 5. do nothing New action items ---------------- All: post optionons on conformance Next conference call -------------------- There will be no call March-28th (Easter Monday) Next call will be April-4th Lars Oppermann
