Action Items ------------ Michael: create errata document - ongoing Lars: redo wording for 'classpath' description in database proposal - done by Michael All: post thoughts on metadata - done Discussion ---------- Database: The TC unanimously accepted the database proposal to be included into the next draft of the OpenDocuemnt specification http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/office/download.php/14336/05-06-03-proposal00050 Metadata: Discussion on the concept of using IDREF in order to reference custom metadata from OpenDocument metadata http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/office/email/archives/200509/msg00012.html (Florian:) From the way known parsers handle IDREF, it's use wouldn't be backwards compatible. Furthermore, XSD and RelaxNG are supporting ID's only on a 'type-level', so the concepts used in a DTD aware parser wouldn't hold there. In order to interoperate with the RDF world, it might thus be the best route, to just define a mapping from OpenDocument meta-data to an RDF graph. That graph could be extended, by includoging futher RDF statements (in RDF ML syntax) in the meta.xml stream. (Duane:) This would be quite in line with what's being done in other sematic web initiatives (e.g. ISO JTC 1 / SC 32's metadata WG) (Lars:) sould a mapping just translate the statements that OpenDocument metadata is making into RDF, or should it be possible, to not only add RDF to those statements, but also be possible, to make further statements about objects from the OpenDocument meta data? (post examples) Discussion on metadata to continue next week... (Michael:) should we create a public mailing-list for users of OpenDocument? (check with OASIS) New Action Items ---------------- Michael: check OASIS mailing list possibilities for a public OpenDocument list Next conference call -------------------- 2005-09-19 3PM GMT – 4:00PM GMT Lars Oppermann
