Action Items ------------ All: check availability for November - done, there are no public holiday in November OpenDocument Summit Summary --------------------------- Nathaniel gave a rough overview of the OpenDocument Summit conducted by IBM and Sun in Amonk, NY, at November, the 4th. A comprohensive report will be posted to the TC's mailing list. This minutes therefore include only items that have been discussed by the TC. Conformance: It was discussed whether the TC or a sub committee of the TC should define and/or test OpenDocument conformance. Mary noted that usually TC's define conformance, but that conformance test take place somewhere else. Ideas that were discussed are - the creation of test or sample documents - a stronger use of the terms MAY, SHOULD, MUST, etc. - a definition of formal conformance rules A difficulty that was identified for defining conformance formally is that OpenDocument can be used for a very wide range of applications that may use OpenDocument in very different ways. For this reason, it seems to be required to define conformance for different classes of applications individually. DRM: A discussion was started how DRM relates to OpenDocument and what the TC's psotion on DRM should be. Accessibility It was discussed whether there are accessibility issues in the OpenDocument format itself. No issues are known, but it was suggested to start a process that looks deeper into this. It was agreed to continue the above discussion as well as other action items that were suggested by the OpenDocument Summit at TC con call on November, the 21st. RDF Mapping and XMP ------------------- It was agreed to continue these discussions in the next conference call. If possible, an agreement on the existing proposals should be reached. Next conference call -------------------- 2005-11-14 4PM GMT – 5:00PM GMT Michael Brauer OpenDocument TC chair
