I just Googled around a bit and am a little confused. On one hand, I see some suggestions that the xsd:anyURI datatype is IRI-compatible. If that's right, RELAX NG supports that out of the box, so I imagine just changing the pattern for uris to use xsd:anyURI might address the issue on that end. I don't remember the name of that pattern, but IIRC it doesn't now use xsd:anyURI. OTOH, I see in this Atom schema that they say: > # Unconstrained; it's not entirely clear how IRI fit into > # xsd:anyURI so let's not try to constrain it here > atomUri = text http://atompub.org/2005/08/17/atom.rnc So that's one question to get a better answer for.
