Subject: Requirements regarding ODF lists from Oliver

Hi,

here are my requirements regarding ODF lists:

My requirement are:
(1) To specify, whose list items, which is defined by using
<text:numbered-paragraph>, form a list and that this list defines the
counter domain for these list items.

(2) To specify, which list style is applied to a list item, which is
defined by using <text:numbered-paragraph>, if no list style is given at
such a list item.

(3) To allow a certain list item of a <text:list> contruct to override
the list style, which is given at the list respectively sub list.

(4) To clarify, that each top-most <text:list> construct denotes a list
and that this constructs defines the counter domain its list items and
sub lists.

(5) To clarify, that each sub list of a <text:list> construct restarts
the counter for the corresponding list level.

(6) To clarify, that each sub list of a <text:list> construct can
provide by its list style a start value for counter for the
corresponding list level.

(7) To clarify, that the complete list style of a sub list of a
<text:list> contruct are used to lay out its list items.

(8) To allow, that a list, which is defined by using <text:list>, can
continue the numbering of any preceding list, which is defined by using
<text:list>, regardless of the used list styles.

(9) To clarify, that a list level definitions of a list style doesn't
have to be complete. E.g. a list style can only contain list level
definitions for list level 2 and 3.

(10) To clarify, which list level definition for a certain list level is
applied to a list item, if this list level definition is missing in the
list style, which is applied to this list item.

(11) To assure, that a list, which is defined by <text:list> can be
converted to a list using <text:numbered-paragraph> and that a list,
which is defined by <text:numbered-paragraph> can be converted to a list
using <text:list>. The constraints, which have to be hold by these
conversions are:
- No lost of a list item, its position in the list and its list level.
- If list style information is given, each list item has to apply the
same list style as in the source list construct.

Regards, Oliver.
