Subject: Re: [office] Status of list discussions/Suggestion how toproceed

Hi

I started working on it right after I recieved the collection of reqs in your mail.

However I'm not done yet.

I'll post what I have later today --- as agreed in the last TC meeting.

However I'm not sure whether I will be able to cover all points, given the amount of reqs and the short time.

Dear TC members,

the status of our discussions is as follows:

a) We have a document that collects the requirements regarding lists:

http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/23090/list-requirements.odt

b) We have the proposal from Thomas, David and Oliver at

http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200703/msg00237.html

We have a comparison of this proposal against the full list of the
requirements from Oliver at:

http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200703/msg00242.html

And we have a comparison of this proposal against his own requirements
from Florian at:

http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200703/msg00216.html

c) We have the proposal from Florian at

http://www.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200703/msg00202.html

And we have a comparison of this proposal against the requirements from
Oliver at:

http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200703/msg00249.html

(Florian, I did not find a comparison of the requirements against your
proposal. Let me/us know if I have overlooked it.)

I don't want to summarize the comparisons here, but would like to ask
you to have a look at them yourselves. However, it seems to me that the
question whether we can vote on the proposals or have to invest more
work into them (or best of cause one of them) depends on how important
certain requirements are.

I therefore suggest that we start our discussions of this topic in the
Monday call with a ballot whether we want to discuss the importance of
requirements that are not met by the proposal, or whether we want to go
directly to a ballot for the proposals.

If we want to discuss the requirements, I suggest that we start that
discussion at the end of the call, and continue it on the mailing list.

Best regards

Michael
