Section 17.438 smil:attributeName

Ed. Note Ok, but we don't have any attributes with these names. Nor do we provide a mapping to the attributes that we do have. We don't have to name the element where the attribute occurs (it can be on an unspecified child element) but it seems like we should name the attributes. In which case we need to re-do the definitions as well.

Ed. Note: Michael: There is no smil:attributeName attribute fort <office:presentation>. The values described here apply to all elements instead.

Patrick: After reading this comment again, I looked at SMIL 2.0, which says: "The target attribute to be animated is specified with attributeName. The value of this attribute is a string that specifies the name of the target attribute, as defined in the host language."

After reading what we say, I think (possibly incorrectly) that we have skipped the step of having a target attribute and instead are using smil:attributeName values as values associated with defined behaviors. Is that correct?

In other words, to follow SMIL 2.0, we would have to name an attribute and the value of that attribute would determine the behavior. Seems like we skipped a step. Yes?

Michael Brauer says: "The smil:AttributeName is not allowed for <office:presentation> (section 18.651.6) My understanding is that the values listed there may be used with all occurrences of the attribute, meaning that we could describe the attribute once."
