Do you mean: "The form:data-field attribute specifies the name of a result set column where the results of a control are stored." ??? (can substituted recorded for stored)

And for: "The result set is the one which the form, containing the control, is bound to (if any), as described by the its form:datasource, form:command and form:command-type attributes."

Do you mean to presume that there is only one control in a form that generates the result set that is defined by form:datasource, form:command and form:command-type? 

If so, I would suggest: "The result set of a control is defined by the form:datasource, form:command and form:command-type attributes of its containing form."

BTW, is the value of the form:data-field the value of a form:name attribute (18.298) on a <form:column> element (12.5.19.1)?
