Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-1538) Editor Note: Section17.913.38 <text:section-source> (xlink:href)

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1538?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=11545#action_11545 ]

Michael Brauer commented on OFFICE-1538:
----------------------------------------

All correct. For 1) What is missing is that there is no difference in the ODF representation between an embedded document and a non-embedded document, except that the later is stored in a folder rather than in the root of a package.

> Ed. Note <draw:object> and <draw:object-ole> state:
> The xlink:href attribute links to the object representation, as follows:
> For objects that have an XML representation, the link references the sub package of the object. The object is contained within this sub page exactly as it would as it is a document of its own.
> For objects that do not have an XML representation, the link references a sub stream of the package that contains the binary representation of the object.
> Application that support objects should support linking to objects that are contained within the same package. They may also support linking to object located outside the package.
> We need to define how to store embedded objects. Here is not right. Perhaps under the package definition?
> Michael's response in December was that yes, we need to specify how to store embedded objects.
