Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-1574) Editor Note: Section17.689.4 <table:label-range> (table:orientation)

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1574?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12486#action_12486 ]

Patrick Durusau commented on OFFICE-1574:
-----------------------------------------

Sun (Eike) comments: No. For 17.689.3 <table:database-range> the table:orientation attribute denotes whether the data fields are organized in rows or in columns. For 17.689.4 <table:label-range> it denotes whether the labels are names of rows or columns. It is not related to sorting, other than if a database range is to be sorted it says whether it should be sorted row-wise or column-wise.

The sentence in 17.689.4 <table:label-range> "The table:orientation attribute specifies whether sorting is done by rows or columns." is wrong and should be changed to
"The table:orientation attribute specifies whether the labels label rows or columns."

> Ed. Note I am not sure if we can fix this in 1.2 but the use of "orientation" here is mis-leading in the first case and simply wrong in the second. Why not simply say: table:row-column-sort-order for the first one and words fail me for the second. It is a hodge-podge of sort order and other processing possibilities.
