Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-1872) number:format-source(18.350) - meaning of country and language reference

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1872?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15972#action_15972 ]

Eike Rathke commented on OFFICE-1872:

There may exist system settings, for example whether leading zeros are to displayed in day and month numbers. This may vary between systems. System settings may also be regarded as the locale the system specifies and implemented by the ODF implementation, or the default locale of the ODF implementation that actually may be one the system doesn't even know.

> -------------------------------------------------------------------------
> Key: OFFICE-1872
> URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1872
> Project: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Locale
> Affects Versions: ODF 1.2
> Reporter: Patrick Durusau
> Assignee: Eike Rathke
> Fix For: ODF 1.2
> Currently reads:
> "If the value of the number:format-source attribute is language, the meaning of short and long depends on the language and country of the date style, or, if neither of these are specified, applications should use the system settings for short and long date and time formats."
> It isn't clear which language and country attributes are applicable.
