Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-1410) Public Comment:legendary paragraphs (ODF all versions)

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1410?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15973#action_15973 ]

Patrick Durusau commented on OFFICE-1410:
-----------------------------------------

Questions:

The <chart:legend> element determines whether or not a legend is displayed for a chart.

PLD: ??? How so? Usually a Boolean attribute value in such cases.

A legend contains a list of legend entries. Each entry
consists of a graphical entry key and an entry text.

PLD: This is more structure than we have described before, may need more detail about the graphic key.

For circle and ring charts the legend entries represent the individual
data points of the first series. The key reflects the
visual appearance of the point while the text contains the accessory
category.

PLD: Which key? Assume the graphical entry one but not certain.

For surface charts the legend entries represent the major intervals
of the axis representing the altitude values.

PLD: What of the two keys? I assume the first one is location, second is the text to display.

For all other chart types the legend entries represent the series of the
chart. The entry keys represent the visual appearance of each series
while the entry texts contain the names of the series.

PLD: Close but we need to be consistent with the terminology.

The legend may include additional entries for regression-curves and
mean-value lines.

PLD: Do these have the same structure as the other entries?
