Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-2335) Lack definitions ofComplex Number as subtypes of Number and Text

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2335?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17615#action_17615 ]

Dennis Hamilton commented on OFFICE-2335:
-----------------------------------------

The statement that complex numbers may be subtypes of Number and Text should be stricken.

There may be automatic conversions that apply, but it doesn't work for Number to have Complex Number as a subtype. (If it was, we wouldn't need different functions for operating on complex numbers.)

If arithmetic operators are defined to work on Complex Number, that should be part of the definition of those operators.

> Compex Number refers to complex numbers being subtypes of both text and number but we have no subsections describing the representation of complex numbers as subtypes of text or number.
