Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-2551) BIN2HEX -implementation defined, that is then defined. ?

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2551?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17744#action_17744 ]

Andreas Guelzow commented on OFFICE-2551:

I thin kthe intention is that the result (under those circumstances) is implementation defined but that implementations have only two choices:
(1) return an error or
(2) return the overlong value as if no Digit parameter was provided.
So they are restricted to define it as one of those two options. Specifically that may not return the overlong value trucated to the given number of digits.

We have done something similar in other places.

> BIN2HEX says in part: If there are more digits required than the Digits parameter, its results are implementation-defined - it may be an Error, or the overlong value as if no Digit parameter was provided.
> If it is implementation defined, something we have yet to define, that is all we need say.
