Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-2763) 19.779.3<text:database-next> - "square brackets" and "dots" ?

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2763?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=19475#action_19475 ]

Dennis Hamilton commented on OFFICE-2763:

This issue reminds me of a related question. Do we have an agreed way of specifying Unicode code points? I see the U+002E notation here, I just used #x2E style (XML BNF notation for code points) in another issue. I don't care which we use (so long as it is not 0x2E) but shouldn't we stick to a single form? (Should be its own issue I suppose. Just flying by .. )

> I can guess on square brackets but prefer not to on "dots."
> enclosing in a pair of square brackets ("["(LEFT SQUARE BRACKET, U+005B) "]" (RIGHT SQUARE BRACKET, U+005D)) a database name, a table name, and a column name, separated by one period "." (FULL STOP, U+002E).
