Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Updated: (OFFICE-2854) 18.3.39 Vector3D -normalized?

Thorsten Behrens updated OFFICE-2854:
--------------------------------------

Confirming Dennis' assumption. Normalized normal vector is a surface normal (i.e. a vector perdendicular to a surface), that is normalized - i.e. of unit length. I don't think the [0,0,0] case needs any mentioning, it is not a valid normal vector anyways.

> 18.3.39 Vector3D - normalized?
> -------------------------------
>
> Key: OFFICE-2854
> URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2854
> Project: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC
> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: ODF 1.2 Part 1 CD 5
> Reporter: Patrick Durusau
> Fix For: ODF 1.2 Part 1 CD 5

> Now reads: " If this value represents a normal, then it should be normalized."
> normal in our 3D attributes says: "only the front sides of planes are displayed."
> Ignoring that we use "normal" to mean several other things, I don't know what it means here?
> Clearly the language implies some operation on the x,y,z coordinates but it isn't clear what that operation would be.
