Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-2859) 19.733.5<table:sort> table:target-range-address - "as opposed to"?

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2859?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=20907#action_20907 ]

Patrick Durusau commented on OFFICE-2859:

I think this was set to resolved before your comment. :-(

If we have a sort operation (the content for the sort comes from somewhere but that really doesn't matter), the table:target-range-address specifies the cell range for the storage of a sort operation. (full stop)

In other words, we don't really need to say anything about source cells, database ranges, etc.

Question: What if I have a sort operation and this attribute is missing? I am assuming that is either a display issue or the application can create this attribute when the user "saves" the results of the sort operation.

> 19.733.5 <table:sort> table:target-range-address - "as opposed to"?
> -------------------------------------------------------------------
> Key: OFFICE-2859
> URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2859
> Project: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Table
> Affects Versions: ODF 1.2 CD 05
> Reporter: Patrick Durusau
> Assignee: Eike Rathke
> Fix For: ODF 1.2 CD 06
> Presently reads: "The table:target-range-address attribute specifies the cell range for the result of a sort operation as opposed to the source cell range specified by a database range."
> The first part makes sense but not the text following the "as opposed to."
> Is this a hold over from 1.0/1.1, table:target-range-address, page 222 and 227, respectively?
> So should it read: "The table:target-range-address attribute specifies the cell range for the result of a sort operation."
> ??
