Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Updated: (OFFICE-3043) NEEDS-DISCUSSION:<table:table-template>should be the child element of <office:styles>

Michael Brauer updated OFFICE-3043:

Summary: NEEDS-DISCUSSION: <table:table-template>should be the child element of <office:styles> (was: <table:table-template>should be the child element of <office:styles> )

Needs discussion: I somehow agree to Mingfei that <office:styles> may be the place for table templates, but we are stating that it is child of <office:master-styles>, even though I don't know whether there are any implementations for this.

Having that said: I have no real objections to change the parent element of table templates if there is consensus in the TC for this, but want to have a conformation for this before making the change. In particular since OOo would benefit from this change.

> Fix For: ODF 1.2 CD 06
> In ODF1.2 schema, <table:table-template> is the child element of <office:master-styles>. But OpenOffice presentation implements the <table:table-template> as the child element of <office:styles>. I think <office:master-styles> mainly are used for defining the master page layout and styles. But <table:table-template> is only for defining table styles. In practice, user can create table based on the table template at any place of the document whatever in master page or in slide page. Also, table template is not restricted into presentation table. So I prefer OpenOffice implementation, that <table:table-template> should be the child element of <office:styles>.
