Hmm. For whatever reason the comment I've added to this issue got lost.

I think it is neither necessary nor the correct way to make the default property values implementation-defined in order to get them documented for the TC work. We already have them for OpenOffice.org, KOffice and Lotus Symphony in our document repository (see http://wiki.oasis-open.org/office/Add_default_values), and I'm sure we get those for other implementation as well if we ask for them.

I further think that end users don't really benefit from a documentation. They will neither look into ODF documents to see which formatting properties are defined, nor will they consult the document what the default will be. They load the documents, and then see what the default is.

I'm not sure if you comments means disagreement, or if what you want to say by it is that we should continue to discuss the topic for ODF-Next. I have  set the issue to resolved with resolution "implementation-dependent" for now. If you disagree, please add a comment to this issue. Otherwise I think we should wait for a week, and if no objections are raised, may remove the needs-discussion.
