Andreas Guelzow commented on OFFICE-3423:
------------------------------------------

According to Mirriam Webster, whether the plural is indexes or indices is not related to whether it is in the context of mathematics or not but it depends on the meaning of index"

plural usually indices : a number or symbol or expression (as an exponent) associated with another to indicate a mathematical operation to be performed or to indicate use or position in an arrangement <3 is the index of the expression ∛5 to indicate the cube root of 5>

while in all otehr cases (including the case where index is a number (as a ratio) derived from a series of observations and used as an indicator or measure, or it is the ratio of one dimension of a thing to another dimension.

> The plural of the term "index" in the context of "number to indicate position" is usually "indices". So in 19.286 form:list-linkage-type the second possible value should be "selection-indices" rather than "selection-indexes".
