I have only seen indexes used (along with appendexes) as plural for the kind of index and appendix that occurs as an annex in the back of a specification (and perhaps indexes found in front matter such as index of tables, index of figures, index of ... ).
In the case in hand, we seem to be talking about numeric values that select from a list and I have no basis for disputing "indices."
[Adding to the madness, Yahoo! Financial lists stock market indices (not indexes).]
